La familia

De Jalisco a Boyle Heights

La Zona Rosa is a family business: the father who bought it started out as a waiter after immigrating from Jalisco, and today his two sons run the club.

Long before his sons took the keys, their father worked the floor. He learned the business one night at a time — every table, every band, every closing — and he saved. Eventually he bought La Zona Rosa from its former owner.

What he built was never just a bar. It was a room where neighbors could hear the music they grew up with, dance with people they knew, and mark the nights that mattered: birthdays, reunions, a Saturday that needed to be a Saturday.

Ownership has now passed to his two sons, Steve among them. The way they see it, the job is simple — honor what their father built and carry it into the next generation. Same neon, same music, same welcome.

La música

From norteño sax to banda

The music at La Zona Rosa is live regional Mexican music played by local acts, with DJs in between. The crowd spans generations, and the dance floor is the point.
